Ways to give

Workplace giving and matching gifts

Thousands of employers match what their people give to charity, and many fund a grant for every hour their people volunteer. If yours is one of them, your gift to the Foundation can arrive worth two or three times what you sent — at no additional cost to you. It takes a few minutes, and it turns on finding us under the right name.

How to find us in a giving portal

Employer platforms index the IRS record, which carries our legal name. Searching “World Dance Foundation” will often return nothing at all. Search the EIN, or the legal name below.

Giving through your employer

1 · Find us in your portal

Open your employer's giving site — Benevity, YourCause, CyberGrants, Millie, Bright Funds or similar — and search the EIN, 33-2738731. If the EIN field rejects the hyphen, try 332738731. If it searches by name, use World Dancing Inc.

2 · Give, and designate if you can

Some portals offer a note or designation field. If yours does, name the fund you want — Dance Without Limits or Scholarships. If it doesn't, give anyway and email us; we will code the gift when it arrives.

3 · Submit the match

A match is a separate request from the gift, and it is the step people forget. Most employers allow it for a window after the donation — often to year end, sometimes longer. Your portal will confirm the deadline.

If you teach, your hours may be worth money too

Many employers run a volunteer grant program — often called Dollars for Doers — that pays a cash grant to a charity for each hour an employee volunteers with it. The Foundation’s work runs on volunteered time: instructors teaching adaptive classes, judges and coaches contributing to the record, studios opening their floors.

If you volunteer with us and your employer offers this, log the hours in your giving portal under World Dancing Inc. Write to us and we will confirm your hours when the platform asks us to verify them.

What reaches the program

Workplace giving platforms deduct their own administration and payment-processing fees from a gift before remitting it to the charity, and they may disburse on a monthly cycle rather than immediately. Those terms are set by the platform and your employer, not by the Foundation, and they vary between programs. Your portal discloses them at checkout.

What the Foundation controls, it commits to: we take no administrative cut from a designated gift. A gift made directly through this site carries no platform in the middle at all, and the Foundation covers the card processing from general funds.

Most platforms receipt the donor themselves through their own charitable fund, which means your tax acknowledgment comes from them rather than from us, and we may not receive your contact details with the gift. If you would like us to be able to thank you or report back on the fund, tell the portal you consent to sharing your name, or write to us directly.

For employers and CSR teams

We can supply the usual diligence pack on request — IRS determination letter, W-9, EIN verification, governing documents and program description — and we are glad to answer questions about how a designated gift is restricted and reported. If your program runs on a platform where we are not yet listed, tell us which one and we will register.

World Dance Foundation is the operating name of World Dancing Inc., a Delaware nonprofit corporation recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (EIN 33-2738731). Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law; whether a particular gift is deductible to you depends on your circumstances, and a matched portion given by your employer is the employer’s contribution, not yours.

Gifts designated to a named fund are restricted to that fund. If a program cannot proceed, or if contributions exceed what it can deploy, the Foundation will apply the remaining funds to programs serving substantially similar charitable purposes, as determined by its Board of Directors. Grants are made at the board’s discretion; no gift is directed to a named individual.
